Workshop on sustainable farming practices and market linkage of tribal kesar mango(surgana,Nashik)

Workshop on Mango Crop Pest and Disease Management and marketing linkages at Umberthan in tribal remote areas was concluded on 4th March 2023, Saturday. Mango and rice are the main fruit crops in the remote areas of in the range of Surgana taluka of Nashik district and since mango is the only crop to raise the economic level of the farmers here.


The agriculture department has conducted workshops for the farmers in various areas for pest and disease management and as the farmers in this area use less chemical fertilizers and drugs, there is a huge scope for export, so the agriculture department has observed this and is trying to bring about a change in the lives of the farmers.


Cropsap Hort Sap Scheme 2022-23 at Umberthan as there is scope for export of mango fruits, Taluka Level Mango Crop Pest and Disease Management Workshop in association with AT Pawar Integrated Development Foundation and Department of Agriculture was concluded at Umberthan with the concept of Honorable MLA Nitin Bhau Pawar Saheb. .

In the current situation, there is a possibility of infestation of mango crop by insects such as leafhoppers, flower bugs, stem borers and fungal diseases called Bhuri. Therefore, by calling the experts, the farmers should manage their mango orchards and take appropriate measures to ensure that the incidence of pests and diseases does not exceed the economic loss level.The agriculture scientist Dr ugale and Dr dhonde suggested some earliest preventing practice for controlling the pest and fungal attack.
